AROM Aix-en-Provence: the Mediterranean table of Rue Espariat

Homemade cooking that travels from Spain to Greece, a terrace in the pedestrian centre and a welcome 7 days a week. Here is everything you need to know before stepping into 44 Rue Espariat.

The house

AROM in a few words

The name speaks of aromas: basil, oregano, garlic, olive oil, slow-cooked dishes. It is the promise of food you smell before you taste it.

Cooking done on site

At AROM, everything is made in our kitchen at 44 Rue Espariat: the sauces, the yoghurt served with the tuna carpaccio, the hand-cut beef tartare, the homemade fries. No frozen portions, no outsourced dishes. It takes longer to make, and you can tell on the plate.

A Mediterranean tour at the table

The menu draws on the whole Mediterranean basin, from Provence to the Greek islands, with detours through Italy, Spain and the Levant. People come for a quick lunch, a family dinner, a birthday on the terrace or a Sunday brunch.

The place

A warm dining room in the heart of old Aix

Rue Espariat is one of the liveliest pedestrian streets in Aix-en-Provence. It links Place du Général de Gaulle to the fountains of the old town, a short walk from Cours Mirabeau and Place des Augustins.

Behind the green façade, the dining room is warm and relaxed. The team welcomes every guest like a friend, takes the time to explain an ajo blanco or a tuna tataki, and adapts a dish in case of allergies.
